Sugar Kettles are reminiscent of an era when harvesting sugar cane was back breaking work here in Louisiana. These working kettles were used in the boiling of sugar cane, just one of the many steps in the transformation of raw sugar from the fields to the table. Along with mechanization in the sugar industry, sugar kettles eventually gave way to new technology and became virtually useless until they slowly started being used in a variety of ways to decorate plantation homes, southern lawns and French Quarter courtyards. Today these kettles have become an iconic symbol of an industry that is an economic engine for South Louisiana.

Our durable and versatile sugar kettles can be used in a variety of residential and commercial landscaping settings including estate lawn ornaments, pool side planters, water gardens, koi ponds, fountains or backyard fire pits. They are a great addition to a home entry, used as a garden center piece or placed in a commercial patio area. Sugar kettles are appreciated for their simple lines and classic working plantation roots.

Our kettles are 100% cast iron. They come in the four traditional size diameters; 3.5 feet, 4 feet, 5 feet and 7 feet.

The 3.5 foot kettle weighs 146 lbs., is 15.5 inches deep and holds 45 gallons. The 4 foot kettle weighs 247 lbs., is 17.5 inches deep and holds 70 gallons. The 5 foot kettle weighs 500 lbs., is 22 inches deep and holds 140 gallons. The 7 foot kettle weighs 1,100 lbs., is 31 inches deep and holds 380 gallons.

Shipping and handling charges on any of the kettles will be performed by quote. All we need to provide you with a quote will be your shipping destination zip code. The kettles are extremely heavy and as a result they will need to be delivered using a freight carrier. The carrier will provide lift-gate service to un-load the kettle, however you will need to handle the kettle from there, so please have those arrangements made in advance of receiving the kettle.
