Louisiana Living is based in one of South Louisiana’s most historic cities, New Iberia, Louisiana. The city sits on the winding banks of the Bayou Teche and is gracefully located in middle of the 22 parish area known locally as Acadiana, otherwise recognized as the French Louisiana region of the state. New Iberia is home to the annual Sugar Cane festival, World Championship Gumbo Cook-off, the historic Shadows on the Teche antebellum home, vast sugar cane plantations, the iconic Tabasco and Louisiana Gold hot sauce brands and the venerable Konriko Rice Mill. Hospitable Cajun culture is also a hallmark of this bayou city.

Louisiana Living is a division of Cane River Pecan Company which has been in the gourmet pecan mail order industry since the mid 1980’s. The Regard Family owns and operates Cane River Pecan Company and has been in the pecan industry since 1969. In the beginning the Regards farmed their own pecans along the banks of the Cane River in Natchitoches parish and later opened a small retail store on Front Street in the city of Natchitoches, Louisiana.

Louisiana Living is a one-stop source for Louisiana specialty foods like boudin, turduckens, stuffed chickens, gumbo, pecans and king cakes. Louisiana Living also offers a line of fine gifts like mint julep cups, Tabasco licensed products, fine art and music only found in Louisiana.

Shipping & Handling Information

Your cost to ship products from Louisiana Living is determined by the total cost of your ordered items to each separate shipping address. The table below shows the shipping and handling rates. Please note that any order containing frozen foods must meet our 5 lb. minimum before that order can be processed.

Please look for our frozen food symbol , indicating with items on our site will ship frozen to ensure maximum freshness. We cannot ship to P.O. boxes, APO’s, FPO’s, or outside of the US.

Standard Delivery: All orders are shipped via UPS to arrive within 2-7 business days. Your cost is determined by the total cost of your ordered items excluding sales tax (if applicable) to each separate shipping address. The table above shows the shipping rates. We cannot ship to P.O. boxes, APOs or FPOs.

2nd Day Air Delivery: All orders are shipped via UPS. Orders received before 10 a.m. C.S.T. (Central Standard Time) will arrive on the second business day. (Fresh foods for this type of delivery method ship Monday through Wednesday only.)

Next Day Air Delivery: All orders are shipped via UPS. Orders received before 10 a.m. C.S.T. (Central Standard Time) will arrive the next business day. (Fresh foods for this type of delivery method ship Monday through Thursday only.)

Saturday Delivery: Add $15 per address to either the 2nd Day Air Delivery charge or the Next Day Air Delivery charge for a Saturday delivery. Saturday delivery is not available to all areas. Please take the time to contact our offices at 1-888-837-2801 to verify that we can deliver on a Saturday to your desired address. You can reach our offices between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. C.S.T. (Central Standard Time), Monday through Friday.

Delivery Notes: Please note that some products offered on the Louisiana Living website are required to ship by certain pre-determined methods to ensure freshness. Some product prices may also include shipping charges (King Cakes for example). In circumstances where shipping charges are included in the price it will be stated. And also, at times some products ordered together may be shipped separately.

Delivery Exceptions: At this time we only ship our frozen foods to addresses in the lower 48 continental United States. We do not ship frozen foods to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico or International address. We also do not ship to any APO (Army Post Office) or FPO (Fleet Post Office) addresses at this time. We are sorry for this inconvenience.

Holiday Schedule:A holiday schedule has been provided so that you may be able to best plan your shipments to arrive in a timely fashion for major holidays. If you are shipping perishable foods, keep in mind that some items may require a thawing period. So please plan accordingly.

Shipping Frozen Foods: Any item that ships frozen will be marked with the symbol . Frozen food orders will be shipped Monday thru Wednesday using one of two methods of shipping via UPS: 2nd Day Air Delivery or Next Day Air Delivery. All orders received before 10 a.m. C.S.T. will ship that day. Any orders placed on Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday will ship on Monday. If you are requesting a Saturday delivery please take the time to call our offices at 1-888-837-2801 to make certain that we can ship to your location on a Saturday. Saturday delivery is not available to all areas. Please note, that an additional shipping charge of $24.95 is added to all Saturday shipments.

All frozen foods will be shipped using Louisiana Living protection packaging. All foods are individually shrink-wrapped then frozen fresh to lock in all the natural juices and flavor. Foods are packed in a premium, reusable, industrial-quality Styrofoam thermal shipper with dry ice or gel packs and then placed in a heavy-duty corrugated box for an additional layer of protection. It’s the best way to ensure that every product is delivered in wholesome condition.

Frozen Food Minimums & Shipping Upgrades: When ordering any of our frozen foods, your total order must contain a minimum of 5 pounds of frozen foods (any combination of frozen foods will do) in order for us to process your order for shipment. If you are unsure of which products ship frozen please look for the symbol on the Foods category page of our web site or on any product detail page of our web site. Any order containing a frozen product will automatically be upgraded to “2nd Day Air Delivery” unless the customer chooses to upgrade the delivery method to “Next Day Air Delivery.” This upgrade is necessary to speed up the transit time of your order, ensuring that your frozen products arrive in satisfactory condition. We highly recommend that in the event no one will be at your home during your scheduled delivery that you consider shipping your order to a business or commercial address to insure delivery. We do not require any signatures to accept a delivery. Louisiana Living will not be responsible or liable for deliveries where the customer is not available to receive shipment.

King Cake Shipping Information: King Cakes are baked and shipped from January 6 (Kings Day) until Mardi Gras day of that year (please note that Mardi Gras day is a moveable holiday and always lands the day before Ash Wednesday). All prices of King Cakes include the shipping and handling of the cake. King Cakes will be shipped fresh Monday thru Thursday via UPS using Next Day Air delivery (arriving on the next business day) to ensure maximum freshness. Only orders that are scheduled to arrive for Saturday delivery will ship out on Fridays. All orders placed before 10 a.m. (Central Standard Time) will ship that day. All orders placed on Friday, Saturday or Sunday will ship on Monday afternoon and arrive at their destination on Tuesday (except for those cakes that are scheduled for a Saturday delivery.) There is an additional fee of $24.95 to have cakes delivered on a Saturday.

Live Crawfish Shipping Information: Live crawfish orders received Monday thru Thursday before 10 a.m. (CST) will ship that day to arrive the next day. All live crawfish prices include free FedEx Standard Overnight delivery, to arrive at your doorstep by 4:30 p.m. the next day, unless a Saturday is requested. There is an additional $15 fee to have live crawfish delivered on a Saturday. If a Saturday is requested, you must call our offices at 888-837-2801 to verify your address for a Saturday delivery (not all addresses are deliverable on a Saturday). We ship live crawfish, while in season, Monday through Friday. We do not ship on Saturdays or Sundays. Any orders placed on Friday, Saturday or Sunday will ship on Monday, unless a Saturday delivery is indicated.

You can have a shipment of live crawfish delivered the day before you plan to boil them, however, be sure to read our recommended steps on how to keep your crawfish alive until you decide to boil them. You will find our recommended steps on how to keep your crawfish alive on our Live Crawfish FAQ’s web page. All live crawfish are placed and shipped in a custom, leak-proof, reusable, Styrofoam shipping container with frozen gel packs to keep the crawfish alive and cool during transit. All live crawfish orders also include a free “party pack” that includes powdered seafood boil, Creole seasoning, bibs, beads and boiling instructions. At this time we do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, any of the US Territories or internationally.

Perishable Product Return Policy: Most of the products that we ship are highly perishable. It is crucial that we have the information we need to deliver a superior experience to you and/or your recipients. Incomplete, incorrect or missing information can result in major delays and/or tragic spoilage. It is very important that we have current, complete and correct shipping addresses to guarantee delivery. We will not be responsible for replacement or refund of orders with incomplete or invalid addresses or products sent to recipients who are not available to accept the product or who refuse the product. If we accept a returned or refused product we will contact you as soon as possible. In order for us to reship your product you will be charged the entire cost of the item plus the shipping expense to have the product reshipped. In order to guarantee freshness, we will not ship the same returned perishable product a second time. If a perishable product has been returned or refused for shipment, an entirely new perishable product will be reshipped in its place. Please be mindful of this important policy and take the time to double check all shipping addresses before placing your order. Thank you.
